Standardization in the field of plastic products, including their terminology, processing by assembly, in particular, but not limited to joining techniques by means of polymeric adhesives, sealing, mechanical joining or welding.
Excluded: rubber, lacquers, coatings and Cellular plastics.
Note 1: By agreement, standards in relation to thermoplastic elastomers are developed and maintained by ISO/TC 45 and by ISO/TC 61.
Note 2: Standardization of polymeric adhesives is not limited to plastics bonding, but may include a wide range of organic and inorganic substrates, with the exception of ceramic tiles, which are dealt with in ISO/TC 189.
Note 3: Jointing technology (including equipment and training) between plastic pipes (including all types of reinforced plastics), and/or fittings, valves and auxiliary equipment, and the assessment of the properties of the resulting joints are developed and maintained by ISO/TC 138.
Note 4: Standards for wood adhesives for load-bearing wood components are developed and maintained by ISO/TC 165.
